I work with people that have been detained against their will for psychiatric treatment. It can be a very dangerous environment to work in. Ive been assaulted a few times, but no serious injuries. Now it is a felony to assault a healthcare worker. :) I get a lot of satisfaction from seeing my patients go from psychotic to a stable state. Good luck to you in your nursing career, Andrew.

Thanks for the encouraging words--I also got an email from Sally Bayless Robinson cheering me on. My mother is a retired RN who worked at Norman Regional for many years (including our time at NHS) and she has encouraged me to go into psych nursing or hospice nursing. The biggest obstacle I have right now is getting into better shape but I'm working on it.
